How SurveyNode works
Describe the research in plain language. SurveyNode builds the survey, runs it as a conversation on the right channels, and analyses every answer as it arrives.
It asks the next question a researcher would
A fixed questionnaire gets the answers it was written for. SurveyNode reads each response and decides whether to probe: why that score, what would have changed it, what happened next. The probing is bounded by the rules you set, so the conversation stays on the research question and inside the time you promised the respondent.
- Creation
- Describe the objective; SurveyNode drafts questions, logic and follow-up rules for review
- Guardrails
- Maximum length, banned topics, tone, escalation triggers for safety-relevant answers
- Review
- Every draft is approved by a person before launch. Nothing is sent that you have not seen.
What changes in the data
Open-ended answers become the majority of the dataset rather than an afterthought, and they arrive already coded. Completion rates rise because the survey feels short even when it is deep, and because it reaches respondents on a channel they already use.WhatsApp, SMS, email and web, from one survey
One survey, delivered on whichever channel each respondent is reachable on, with the same conversation logic and the same dataset at the end. Across Southern, Central and West Africa, WhatsApp and SMS are where customers are, on the handsets and data bundles they actually have; SurveyNode treats them as first-class channels rather than links to a web form.
Send from your own infrastructure if you need to
For customers whose regulator does not permit sharing contact data, invitations can be sent from your own SMS gateway and SMTP servers. Your contact list never reaches SurveyNode; only the responses do.
Assisted WhatsApp onboarding, included with Professional and Enterprise
WhatsApp Business requires Meta business verification, a provisioned number and approved message templates. Our team does this with you in a 30 to 45 minute remote session, then tests end to end. It is a service, done by a person, and it is included in the plan rather than left to you.
What the onboarding session covers
- · Meta business verification and linking
- · Number provisioning or porting
- · Message template drafting and approval
- · Opt-in and opt-out handling
- · End-to-end test with your team
Included with Professional and Enterprise plans.
Analysis that arrives with the responses
Sentiment, themes and topic frequency are computed as each answer lands. Summaries are regenerated on a schedule you set, by segment, region and language, so a Monday-morning readout is a page you open, not a project you commission.
- Outputs
- Live dashboard, scheduled AI summaries, CSV and API export, PDF readouts
- Segments
- Any attribute you pass in: branch, product, region, tenure, channel
- Escalation
- Route flagged responses to a named person within minutes
An MCP server and a full API
SurveyNode exposes a Model Context Protocol server. Any assistant or agent that speaks MCP can create surveys, select audiences, launch on a channel, monitor progress and retrieve analysis, subject to the user's SurveyNode permissions. Everything the MCP server can do, the REST API can do too.
- MCP tools
- 35 tools covering survey creation, audiences, launch, monitoring, results and AI analysis
- Auth
- OAuth 2.1 sign-in with your SurveyNode account; role-based permissions
- Export
- Webhooks on response and on completion; CSV and JSON
- Docs
- Developer guides (API, webhooks, sessions, MCP) supplied at onboarding

// First connect opens a SurveyNode sign-in (OAuth).
// The assistant then acts with that user's permissions. The conversation happens in the respondent's language
Write the survey once. SurveyNode conducts it in the language the respondent chooses or the one their profile indicates, including the follow-up questions, and analyses the answers together so themes are comparable across languages. Respondents can also answer in their own language, or a mix, even when the survey was sent in English, and the AI interprets the meaning either way.
